Prayers of Intercession for Peace
One or more of the following intercessions may be incorporated into the parish Prayer of the Faithful in the coming weeks and months
as we continue to pray for peace in our world, in our communities, and in our homes.
For all leaders in the Church, particularly Francis, our Pope, and N.____________, our Bishop: that their words and actions will promote reconciliation, peace and human flourishing in our world today. Let us pray to the Lord.
For all areas of the world effected by war, especially in the Ukraine and Russia, and for their respective leaders: that the lives and communities that have been damaged may be healed and rebuilt, based upon mutual reconciliation, respect and peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
For an end to the violence perpetrated by harsh words, deadly weapons, or cold indifference. May our homes, our nation, and countries around the world become havens of peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
For all those who suffer, particularly as a result of injuries and forced migration due to war: that they will find resilience, welcome and compassion from all people of good will. Let us pray to the Lord.
For all those who have been effected by wars past and present or suffered any form of loss and pain: that God’s Holy Spirit will surround them with healing and peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
For the grace to see every human being as a child of God, regardless of race, language or culture. Let us pray to the Lord.
For the strength to teach our children how to resolve differences non-violently and respectfully, and the courage to model it in our own behaviour. Let us pray to the Lord.
For all those who have lost their lives through the darkness of violence and war, especially those in ______________________: that God will grant them eternal light and peace among the communion of the saints. Let us pray to the Lord.
For our faith community, that we may celebrate and welcome the diverse faces of Christ in our worship, our ministries, and our leaders. Let us pray to the Lord.
For our faith community, that we may respond boldly to the Holy Spirit's call to act together to end violence and promote peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
For healing and justice for all those who have experienced violence and discrimination. Let us pray to the Lord.
For the wisdom to receive the stories and experiences of those different from ourselves and to respond with respect. Let us pray to the Lord.
For our parish, that we may cultivate welcome, extend hospitality, and encourage the participation of people of all cultures and backgrounds. Let us pray to the Lord.
For solidarity in our global human family, that we may work together to protect those who are most vulnerable and most in need. Let us pray to the Lord.
