Greetings to all and a Happy New Year from Liturgy Brisbane.
As the summer holidays come to a close and the start of the school year draws ever nearer, this edition of LITed is dedicated to celebrating liturgy with primary school children.
The first article focuses on using the Lectionary for Masses with Children and canvasses possibilities for connecting the themes in the Children's Lectionary with the Religious Education Curriculum. The second article offers ideas for celebrating Morning Prayer with children in the school setting. Finally, the third article explores the key principles of the Directory for Masses with Children and presents it as a vital resource to be consulted when preparing Masses with primary school children.
This edition also contains information about some exciting formation opportunities being offered in 2020:
* Workshops by Fr Paul Turner entitled: "How Sacraments Work - There's More To This Than Meets the Eye"
* Liturgy Brisbane workshops on Celebrating the Triduum and Easter
* Liturgy Brisbane workshops on Training Liturgical Ministers
* An invitation to attend the Conference of the National Liturgical Commission in Parramatta in March 2020
.................................
Best wishes from Tom Elich and Clare Schwantes
