Welcome to the September edition of LITed !
In the next few weeks, Nick Wagner and Diana Macalintal, founders and directors of TeamRCIA.com, will visit Australia to give a series of seminars
to help revitalise the Rite of Christian Initiation in parishes.
In anticipation of these valuable formation opportunities, this edition of LITed presents a series of articles on the Rite of Christian Initiation.
Firstly, the dynamic and inspiring words of Sue Thomas remind us of the importance of offering a year-round rolling catechumenate which immediately responds to those expressing an interest in deepening their relationship with God and journeying towards the Sacraments of Initiation.
The second article, written by Nick Wagner, demonstrates how RCIA teams can incorporate elements from the all-pervading digital culture, and shows how the four elements of digital cultural traditions align with the four pillars of Christian life identified in the RCIA.
The final article addresses the increasing reality of teenagers and children presenting for baptism, and presents two resources which can support those who accompany young people on the path to conversion.
For those readers who live in or near Brisbane, information about the upcoming free seminars is also provided in this edition of LITed, along with all of the registration information.
Best wishes from Tom Elich and Clare Schwantes
