A pastoral map to baptism

Welcome to this fortnight's edition of LITed: Liturgical Education News.
We've all been on the other side of those curly pastoral questions around baptism. Do both parents have to be Catholic? What about Godparents? Why do we talk about sin when babies are involved? Some, if not all the answers you seek are in this edition of LITed! We also have our regular curated list of professional learning and resources.

If you are time-poor, the three minute 'Flame of Faith: Baptism' film (left) from Evangelisation Brisbane is a must-see. Beautifully produced with wise theological content choices, this film is Baptism 101. Recommended for any family considering baptism and every parish website.

If you have a little more time, this 40 minute recorded lecture from Dr Jayme Mathias outlines baptism for adults and children. It is at pitched at an introductory level and explains the underpinning theology well.
...The baptismal font is a tomb in which a person dies to sin, and it is a womb through which a person is born to new life in Christ...

Pope Francis

Liturgia comes packed with features, including a library of hymns and lyrics that can be exported to powerpoint with a click of the mouse! You will also find a library of ritual books and support materials including homily notes and scripture commentaries. Prepare any liturgy with the confidence of an expert liturgist.
