Changes to Copyright Licenses

Parishes that currently hold a 'Word of Life International' copyright licence, automatically transitioned to a new licence with OneLicense on July 1. Liturgy Brisbane has created a new, online copyright information resource that includes a page dedicated to providing parishes with information regarding the transition.

Preparing Music for Sunday: Break Open the Word
Break Open the Word is a resource produced by Liturgy Brisbane used by most parishes to prepare each Sunday's Liturgy. Break Open the Word lists the readings for each Sunday Liturgy with a small commentary. While most readers have a copy, have you considered providing this resource to your music ministers. Understanding each Sunday's readings is critical to hymn selection.

This resource produced by Woolongong Diocese provides an excellent overview of liturgical music. It lists the function and importance of music in liturgy, the role of music ministry in parish, liturgical song forms and a guide for choosing music in mass. Highly recommended.
